    06/22/2026 - 08/21/2026

This summer High Steppe offers a morning only climbing session or an all day experience. The week-long camp sessions start June 22 and run through the third week of August. All the dates and details are available on the HSCC calendar. Registration is now open.

New! They're partnering with Yakima Maker Space for art during afternoon sessions. Yakima Maker Space will turn their meeting room into an art studio and explore drawing, painting and more!

    Who can attend?

Climbing is for everyone! Designed for campers ages 6-14, each session is structured, active fun while learning the sport of indoor rock climbing. No prior experience is needed.

    Camp Sessions:

    Option #1: Morning Only, 8:45-11:45am

This camp will introduce campers to the basics of climbing equipment, technique and terminology while developing creative problem-solving skills, self-reliance, and persistence. Each week-long camp will conclude with a friendly climbing competition. Friday’s Mini Comp will give campers the chance to apply all the new things they learned during the week.

    Option #2: All Day, 8:45am-3pm

The morning climbing session will be followed by lunch and an afternoon of fun activities including tie-dye shirts, art projects, yoga, and board games. Climbers of all experience and ability levels are welcome. Activities are tailored to the ability level of the campers. Campers are encouraged to move at their own pace and pursue their area of interest within the planned activities.
