City of Toppenish

Where the West Still Lives

While in Toppenish you'll want to make time to wander its streets, adorned with old fashioned street lamps, while you grab an espresso or old fashioned soda and see what the city has to offer. This small city's pride and joy are over 70 painted outdoor, historical murals. The mural project depicts the many men and women who have made lasting contributions to the city. The murals can be viewed year-round, and from May through September, visitors can ride on a horse-drawn wagon for a narrated tour.

Don’t forget to take time and visit one of the three unique museums: The American Hop Museum - the only one of its kind in the entire country; the Yakima Valley Rail & Steam Museum, inside the beautifully restored Toppenish Depot; or the Yakama Nation Cultural Center, which boasts one of the finest Native American displays anywhere!

Toppenish is also home to the Toppenish Wildlife Refuge - a national reserve where you can view a large number of water fowl. Fort Simcoe, an old army fort, is just a 30 minute drive south and a perfect place to picnic.

And if you’re looking for a little gaming excitement, Yakama Legends Casino features all of your favorite Vegas-style games with a hometown flair! Featuring 1,400 of the newest, hottest slots around, there is no doubt that your favorite machine is waiting!
